For both dash cam drivers who on some of those videos seem to stupidly head towards an accident for their video glorification where a simple lift of the throttle anticipation could save everyone a lot of expense
The tables clearly state that it’s per 10,000 accidents (more properly Road Traffic Collisions, as “accident” infers that no one is to blame).
I take that to mean that out of 10K RTCs 62 involved Vauxhalls, 60 involved Daewoos & so on. Therefore those statistics do not reflect the popularity of each marque, which must have an effect.
I may have totally misunderstood because, as you say, surely insurance companies understand the risks involved when pricing policies…? However, given the tables as presented (with no small print) you can understand my point.
Fair enough - good spot, I confess I missed the distinction.
It could - though a quick search shows Vauxhaul in 7th place for sales in 2023 - eg see this data which seems to be the manufacturers, puts Vauxhaul in 7th or this list also showing them as them 7th with VW, Ford and Audi in the top three slots.
A single year’s sales data does not exactly tell you what the most common marques are actually on the roads as there will be vehicles of all ages but the top 10 manufacturiers are relatvely static so it will be roughly correct.
In fact with Audi in 3rd place for sales the fact that Audi is 16th place accident wise might suggest that Audi drivers are not as bad as the myth would have it.
Anyway my point was mainly that drivers of any type of car can exhibit poor driving. If @letstryagain feels that Audi drivers are especially to blame I would suggest that there is some unconscious bias coming into play.
I haven’t noticed any overtly racist comments in his videos, though he definitely disapproves of Sadiq Khan. I think he is more bothered about what he sees as needless traffic rules and restrictions than by the race of the originator. But I don;t know him personally so can’t give a definitive answer. I interpreted that comment as relating to the dangerous driving of London registered private hire vehicles
I think the list is out of date. Bora production stopped in Europe nearly twenty years ago and it there can’t be that many 106s, 206s and 306s left around, though an interesting cluster of Peugeots nevertheless.
Found this very tidy Bora VR6 2.8 4 Motion while browsing. A friend has Golf G60 synchro he bought new and used sparingly. I loved the sporty VWs of that era I would have liked to have bought a Polo G40 and tucked her away as a fun car.
Large parts of the Netherlands look computer generated. By the C17th the Dutch had landscaped their entire country apart from the coastal dunes and made the place about 40% larger.
Pretty difficult to mistake one for the other. One’s possibly the most landscaped country in Europe, and the other the wildest. Better stop now cos I’ve previously slagged off Iceland several times on SF…
