Yes. I do not know if they use Argus or not, but as I have said before, they are far from fools and know all about values. And remember: their word is final, so do ask before you import…
Not unless it’s an enduro bike on the roads near me which are with varying mixes of mud and gravel all year long.
Verges? How fancy!
We mainly have a tyre’s width of grass and then a ditch unless you’re on an RD.
If you live in the world I do where every French person cuts the left handers to an incredible degree, you would be very grateful to have an RHD. Plus my GS450 overtakes in a flash so no danger there.
Quite right, I love them for exactly the same reason.
I imported my supercharged 2009 Nissan 350Z GT Roadster, from England into France, and registered it here. It was about as difficult as biting into an apple, and cost less than 500 euros.
How long ago was that @Wilfried?
|n May 2020.
Ah, before Brexit. It can be a touch more difficult now
Yes, sadly. HOLD ON ! I thought that the referendum was in JUNE 2016
It was, but it took the idiots over 4 years to decide how to fuck things up even more
Tell that to Alan Turing.
That was the decision point and, as Mark said, the final act of madness was December 2020.
Excellent !
Thanks for the post.
Am considering selling my soft top (Honda) to take advantage of the massive price drop of electric cars in UK.
I will also sell my ultra reliable CRV and just have the one car.
Thing is, for the next 6 years or more, im not sure theyd (electric) be as reliable despite the crv having 100k miles on it.
Also considering a more recent french CRV instead of the import rigmarole but I’ll miss out on different tech to please my new/different car itch.
Plus, we hankering after a move from the NW tip to the SE tip, 3 vehicles to shift!
Decisions decisions !!
An S2000? If so and left hand drive I could be interested!
Hi
Yeah S2000, RHD im afraid. Only 30k miles, grey with red/black.
The amount of times ive thought about selling, mentioned it online, described it and immediately changed my mind.
Go import one, nothing like em for the money, even todays values. EU CoC are free.
Im tempted by a 2022 polestar for 13k and keeping the S2000
I do like your mx5 though, i dont like any other model of mx5, recent shape are awful. Mrs had an auto 1990 import many years ago, that was a brilliant car.
I had one as a hire car from Stansted recently- the first electric car I had driven, I loved it -(Polestar 2)
Hi, I’ve been trying to follow this, I want to take my adapted car to France and retire to my little holiday home. The conversion was done a year too late to get the EU cert, I have the COC and a plan of what was done, but my relocation helper has had it turned down by DREAL. As I need both my wheelchair and my car, I can’t jus hop over and buy a second hand car with a ramp, and if I leave with my current car, it won’t be insured. Also it’s a very good car and I’d like to take it with me. Any ideas please, just found your forum?
Good morning and welcome.
DREAL are basically the ‘end of the line’ regarding eligibility of cars permitted to be registered in France. They should have given you an exact reason for refusal - what is the reason? If it is an issue regarding a detail of the conversion, is it one that a French specialist might be able to rectify?
