Things that make you go "aaargh"

Never let anyone keep your original S1

Apparently all carte. Italy’s need to be renewed a neurally in the machine at the pharmacies. It is now, like the house insurance, to start at the beginning of the calendar year.
This, of course, will mean that the system will be totally overloaded. Why cannot they use a renewal date that is the one o. Your card and spread the load over the year?

Following on - things that really make me go ARRGGHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!! RSI not paying the pension that my OH is more than entitled to having paid into the French system for more than the required amount (and the turning off RSI phones for fours days - I assume because they really cannot be bothered) . The HUGE trucks driving past our house (less than 1 mtr from the walls) at 70k an hour from 6am every morning because they are building the LGV line 200 mtr from our house (that we have owned for 25 years) with no recourse for damages and no compensation for the 50% drop in the value of the property. They are shaking this 400 year old building to ruins. I am missing my girls and granddaughters and feeling very pissed off, and because it is France and I am English I am not allowed to complain. Such is the way of things. So tomorrow will get up and put on a happy face, swear a little and be very glad that I have a OH I love very much (and who loves me) and that SFN gives me a little space to vent my frustrations. Come the revolution I will have all bureaucrats buried in their own paper work.

Santo Calvino exists, it is a hard one, but maybe St Trevor?

  • One of our older boules players . After playing his shot he insists on walking up the middle of the alley to a seat near the head rather than use the path at the edges, forcing the next player to wait.
  • Yeah I know it,s pathetic but me & the other boulists have been trying to get his arse in gear for ten years now & nothing gets through to him!!!
  • Sad or what???

Get yourself a Liber-t device from Sanef, then you can sail past all the queues at the peage!

Alexander, I was helping to put one of those together for the girls' school 2011 calendar, I added St Enid who I consequently looked up and does not exist :-) The reason I did it was because I was inspired by one girl sitting opposite me, bleary eyed having breakfast with the Noddy toy she has had in bed with her most of her life. I thought I should honour his creator. Nobody noticed, but I am wondering who to invent if I get caught again...

Grrrrr, I am always annoyed by that one.

The EDRF guy to read the meter. Last time we got a letter that said day X but he was in the neighbourhood the week before so came then and the one the letter said would come yesterday and did not show today either, so stuff them if they work on Saturday I have things to do elsewhere...

:)

Or there are two of you waiting to be served in a shop and there are three assistants. The lore states that the bloke infront of you will have a problem that neither the first nor second assistant can solve so they call the third and they all try to solve the problem together as a team building exercise, leaving you ample time to browse the shop.

My kids - they fit the criteria - * makes no sense & could be very simply corrected* (boarding school is supposed to work?)

:)

or when your lane at the peage or eurotunnel that you've queued in for 30 mins with it's little green man goes red X Arrghh

Like :)

What about the quinze jours - rather than 2 weeks - always confuses me - is that 15 working days meaning 15 days being 3 weeks holiday or just 15 days meaning you take holiday run from Saturday to Saturday or Sunday to Sunday or what? No I am away for 2 weeks just somehow makes more sense. Otherwise I'd have to say actually it's 16 days or 13 days or end up being much more precise. Arrghh.

...... When you are in a queue at the checkout and you suddenly decide to be clever and switch tills as the one next to you is going faster .... Then the sales assistant on that till decides to *take a phone call/ *Chat with her assistant/ *walks off for some unknown reason ( delete as appropriate) and all the people and more have passed through the till you were originally on :) !!

People who use week numbers or events rather than dates.

"We'll do that in week 37"

"So when is that?"

"Around the beginning of October"

"Yes but when?"

Hang on I've got a calendar around here somewhere....(shouts) Anyone got one of those calendars with the week numbers on?....Yeah it's the week commencing 3rd October"

So why didn't you just say that in the first place!

OR

"Are you doing anything for Toussaint?"

"Dunno - when is it?"

"Well it's Toussaint, isn't it"

"Perhaps, but I havent't got a clue if you're talking about, December, March or September"

I get my own back on those types by saying stuff like: "Just after Ramadan" or "Two weeks before Diwali"

That really screws them up.

Having to go through the whole routine of opening a new bank account with the same bank but in a different area!

This after being told to transfer the sale money of the house from the first bank to the second!

Just in case you might think this is just an English problem, my French sister-in-law is changing area (to ours) from a Paris bank different from ours where she has just opened an account. I just saw her in the lounge with two sets of papers and the telephone, yelling ''why can't you co-ordinate what you are saying!!'' Even the French despair!

I have had a OOO! and an AARGH day today.

OOO! when I received my new Carte Vitale that has taken over a year to arrive - then AAArgh when I opened the next envelope to find a parking fine for 6 March in Paris (I was never there) in a car I do not own!

Perhaps it is just French paperworkin general???? When I came over I had a Japenese car (Mazda) on German plates, bought inthe name of my first marriage, my passport in the name of the new marriage and of course almost everything else in my maiden name! The guy at the prefecture took one look told me it was too complex, put his stamp on the form and told me to go away!!!Maybe that is the answer, make it more complicated than it is!!!
