We have always used seasoned wood.
I wanted a Jotul, but was overruled.
Next on my wish list is an Aga, but that is probably not green either.
If we move I want one room where we can be warm and cook at the same time.
Hopefully Aga are working on new models.
Coming back to this from months ago this is the newly launched govt site that explains the process for getting the current help available when replacing a heating system:
I’m now going through the process of changing the oil-fired system for a pompe à chaleur.
Basically, there are three grants available (around here anyway)
EDF - Prime coup de pouce which gives anyone 3500€ towards a new eco friendly system. This can rise to 5000€ depending on your declaration fiscale etc.
ANAH which is a local authority grant which can be 50% ofthe final bill for an eco friendly system but again dependant on the declaration fiscale.
A regional grant of 1500€ providing you have a DPE which costs about 250€ and again dependant upon youe declaration fiscale etc.
The devis for my new system is about 12000€ so the 3500€ grant is a big help.
