I’m no student or interpreter of political events but Simon Tisdall’s article in the Guardian on how/why Trump’s honeymoon in office is over, rings true for me.
I hope he’s right about the honeymoon being over, and I hope that the lesser-spineless-republican species will start growing a backbone.

I suspect not speaking English like a native won’t help.
FWIW around 2005/6 I visited the US with the company MD who is a UK citizen, and at EVERY passport check my Austrian passport would get me singled out for extra inspection/security checks. One might assume it was just unlucky, except I was travelling alongside a clear negative control who wasn’t selected once.
Should just have said “I wonder what my mate Arnie would thing of this 
”
Joking aside what is happening in America right now is pretty scary - civil war a distinct possibility, indeed almost certainly would be actively welcomed by Trump as it would solidify the case for using emergency powers (which he has already abused) to avoid mid terms in 2026.

Is that “actually she’s not as innocent as portrayed”, or “the lawyers have been ‘got at’” I wonder?

It might be that she was somewhat unwise. But note that the photos were in a “deleted items folder”. If you travel to the US it is best (and has been for a long time) to wipe devices before you enter the country.
