Stella, thanks for the link. They were talking about it on the radio this morning. Seems to have upset a lot of people. I guess they may raise the ceiling a little, but not sure by how much. What I don’t understand is there’s always been a big difference between thresholds for services vs commercial - I don’t understand why they’d try to make them the same 25k threshold.
Also 25000 is close to one of the tax thresholds from lowish to higher rate tax for employees? wondering if they are trying to even up tax rates across different ways of earning a living.
Thinking of it and other things like EDF (~govt) shenanigans with those who agreed to participate in govt initiatives such as Tempo to use less electricity snd in return have the opportunity to reduce costs, with recenr relative reduction in that cost only a touted 2% vs 15% promoted for others, as libertaxe egalitaxe fraternitaxe .
Nothing like putting the backs up of thousands of artisans and individual workers to elicit a climbdown !
