UK Pension Indexation post Brexit

Here is an interesting angle on the role Australia and Canada are apparently playing, according to a UK lobby group campaigning for indexation of pensions in those countries…

The UK Government’s reluctance to do anything that increases the cost to them of state pension provision is probably behind this - Sunak just floated a proposal to means-test Winter Fuel Allowance for pensioners, in order to help fund the Triple Lock - but was immediately shot down by other Tories because it would target the group that is most likely to vote Conservative at the next election.

I agree that it’s unfair and illogical that your country of retirement choice should affect your entitlement to state pension updates - not all of us are billionaires with beachside mansions and football-field sized swimming pools…
