UK Private Pension (DC Scheme)

Well they don’t really exist, so that’s not hard to do!

How much money is enough?
“Just a little bit more” – Rockefeller

Money’s a trap.

As soon as we get into the stock market dealing, currency dealing etc - then glued to the screen! And life passes us by.
There is no difference between all of this and gambling.

Have to learn it the hard way by ideally  :frowning: living in the stock market during the dot com bubble crash of 2002.

The same euphoria surrounding the Internet back then has returned in AI currently.

Extremely worrying dependence on tech stocks in the S&P500 currently - an evangelical zeal associated with AI.

Here’s a book written by my Zeitgeist movement colleagues.

Henceforth known as ‘good Fed’ :-).

Robots Will Steal Your Job, but That’s OK - Wikipedia

The Internet + AI serves to eliminate jobs - and that’s a good thing!

That’s what I read - @KarenLot - think the rules of £10k x 6 DC cash in tax-free for a couple may have existed in the past but long gone now!
Real shame.

Ahhh didn’t know that @Dave_Lawson - useful.

So - if we have 2 DCs and we crystallize even 1 (take the 25% tax-free and then flexibly draw down and crystallize the pot) - then we can’t contribute any more than £10k into a pension afterwards even though we still have 1 uncrystallized pension?

I think the forum gives triggering the MPAA as £40k → £4k switch but I think it’s £60k → £10k now.
I think the £40k to £4k rule did hold but was subsequently upgraded.

Loved your well though through justification of the worth of a credit card though!

We use one here to be fair.

Overall though they’re not a great thing - a way for poor people to access money which they can’t afford to pay back.

Seen “The Squid games”?
Similar basic premise.

For someone who professes to believe that “money is a trap”, you seem to be well and truly ensnared.

It used to be £4600 MPAA but increased to £10,000 to get over 55’s back into work that have accessed pensions

It’s ‘Squid Game’ ( 오징어 게임 ojingo gaim, ojingo means squid ) and the premise isn’t the same, it isn’t about debt so much as desperation and how to monetise it, and what we mean by value(s).

People in debt willing to kill to acquire the very thing that they’ve become a victim of instead of wanting to overturn the system that they’ve been disadvantaged through.

Life is no fun for people in poverty, particularly in a world where obscene wealth is dangled in front of us all and used to imply that people without it are a failure - when in actual fact those who succumb are addicts.

JC didn’t drive a Ferrari!

Didn’t need one to travel at speed.

Yeah. He died Ferrari-ternal salvation.

Don’t forget the sequel!

Every major religion ends the same way.

Imagine who gets crucified this time!

God will resurrect the dead.
Eschatology - Wikipedia

Resurrection AFTER crucifixion.

JC and the donkey watching on as the species ups and floats away back into God’s embrace.

You’re right - but didn’t the game feature somebody who gambled vs somebody who gambled ?

Similar basic premise.

Two people who racked up debt.
Credit cards and the effect they have on the majority in America and the UK?

Have you actually seen the series yourself?

They have not obviously…
