Thanks for those suggestions @mikey1090 . I shall pass them on to my partner who is planning on sorting out the new hosting arrangements next week. It doesn’t need to be free, although that obviously is a bonus, but it doesn’t need to as expensive as some of the hosting offers I’ve seen.
Today is our end-of-year Association knees-up. Once the dust has settled from that, we’ll be free to sort out the admin 
Cloudways is excellent. I host all my websites on them and have for years. Websites are fast and their support is super helpful whenever you run into issues.
Sorry just re-read the part saying you need French hosting.

Welcome to the site. I’ve not used Cloudways before. Are your websites hosted in France? Is their technical support available in French?

Hi Gareth, thanks. Apologies - I just re-read the post and missed the part about French hosting. They have dedicated hosting servers in France but I don’t believe their technical support is available in French.
