Same model as mine, hmm I will have to remind him of the value of the Sansui when I see him. ![]()
I see there’s a fair sprinkling of joy from acquiring guitars on this thread. Me too.
Back in the very early days of Ibanez, I bought a 2619 double cutaway model that looked great BUT Ibanez hadn’t quite got the hang of those very slim necks they’re noted for back in the day and this one was unstable and difficult to keep in tune even when you were playing it with the lightest of strings - so I swapped it for a van.
I’d always loved the look of that guitar and the great access to the high frets so, recently, I bought another model: the AR420, that looks just the same and it’s GREAT: super action, great feel and multiple switching options for each pickup; very versatile. I have around 30 guitars but this is my current favourite.
I love that double cut shape that I associate with Japanese guitars.
That does look good - a friend had something similar back in the 80s, and it was a nice guitar.
Since we’re talking guitars, getting things set up to play Sunday morning with the new P90 guitar. King of Kings (king of tone clone) drive pedal on, setting up levels with a nice bit of crunch and started playing an open D with palm muting for a classic rhythm - the sound man started singing “I got my first real six string, down at the five and dime”.
Sometimes it’s just nice to have people respond and have fun, even if it was the wrong key. Did sound nice though.
How appropriate ![]()
I recently acquired a KoT clone, the VS Audio Royal Flush + (which I got cheap because it rattled). It’s great, even though it’s wasted on me ![]()
It’s gold coloured too. ![]()
About £35 from Amazon when first launched, it’s quite chunky but works well with this guitar.
Interesting reading across various well-posted threads that the things most appealing to SFers appear to be can-openers, guitars and hi-fi stuff.
I’ve no idea why this should be the case, but would be grateful for any explanation.
If I don’t get one, I might be tempted to start a thread on my favourite shoes…
Gadgets?
I have a fab newish gadget, it’s a taiyaki/bunggopang iron for making fish-shaped waffles.
Would that be anything to do with today’s date?
In the UK, all that stops at noon, but in France?
One of the biggest differences between taiyaki and bungeoppang is their respective shapes. These snacks are named after different fish, and as such, the bread is shaped to model the fish they are named after. For example, the shape and direction of the fins tend to differ between the two snacks.
Hmm… (plus 5, well now actually rather more than 5 characters)
They are just gadgets, everyone loves gadgets

Not bread, waffle! Taiyaki (Japanese) should look like sea bream (tai) but I have to say my waffle iron doesn’t look much like a seabream. But bungo are little carp in Korean ( Kim bunggo is gold+ carp= goldfish, bunggopang is goldfish ‘bread’) and my waffle iron doesn’t look much like goldfish either.
Whichever fish they are I shall be putting anko inside them because that’s the filling I like best. Anko is red bean paste, you often find it in daifuku which I also make and which people often call mochi.
Well, that certainly clears that up ![]()
Yep! Goldfish and red beans in a pan cake ![]()
Some might say ,“Yum” or << Miam! >>…
But I’m more of a pied de porc or tripoux kind of guy.
Not feet of clay, but feet of pork. Curious. ![]()
Dr Marks proposed thread on his favourite shoes will be interesting!
