What to do with old books (mostly English ones)

The way things are going, I’d use them for fuel.

The next Phoenix book fair is in May this time for the first time in Bergerac. The pub for this is a bit out of date but it’s certainly going to happen in May Spring Book Fair 2022 - Phoenix Association

Do you know what the correct date is David? Or anyone else on here? The main banner says 28th May. The body of the text - last sentence says May 7th.

How happy are they to receive (yet more) English books? And do they want them ahead of the day? Seems to me in recent years charities have been overwhelmed by second-hand books. We’ve got loads we’d like to pass on, so for us it would be an ideal opportunity, if they really want that many.

@SuePJ
You might not have noticed… but the Phoenix link David posted does give you the possibility to contact them… so why not do just that ???

Thanks Stella. No, I hadn’t noticed

Reviving this old thread.

Has anyone used this organisation?

This looks interesting. I have been busy buying second hand books online and donating them to our two village book box cupboards. Although the books are in English someone has picked them to borrow.

This librairie solidaire set up looks benevolent. I don’t need to be given anything in return but would like to think I might be helping people via books.

I’ll give it a go with the next batch and revert…
