Oh yes. my son uses ‘like’ in every other sentence, sometimes more than once. Also is glued to his smart phone all the time. Much as I love him and his annual visits, there is a tiny bit of relief after a week. 
I mean like it’s a proper word , but it’s like when its used inappropriately like, that it drives me mad.

My 2 neighbours who despite a hosepipe ban can be seen early morning or late evening watering their plants with a hosepipe while everyone else is using watering cans.
I searched on our water suppliers website and there is a form you can fill in to report them, and the punishment?
The person might be contacted and reminded of ways to save water, nothing more.

I cannot stand the trend to talk about historical events in the present tense.
The most guilty of this ridiculous & confusing habit are historians!

The only room 101 I knew of was the torture room from 1984. Many of the answers, and indeed the question itself, seemed truly bizarre until someone mentioned alternative rooms.
