Fascinating! Have you discovered who created them yet and why?
After being used to hide people and/or clandestine travels… or childhood adventures…our tunnel was more recently used as a sewer… so neither Time Team (nor anyone else) wants to go down it just yet… wait a few more years until all the stuff has vanished… 
I have now been given a map of the caves by the former owner - it is huge!
