I was about to send the missing English translation today, when I received an email to say the passport application has been approved. I called them up to make sure they had indeed misplaced the document and it seems they found it after insisting I hadn’t sent it.
All’s well that ends well, and now I don’t have to stress about getting the amendment made to the French birth certificate.
