Have now covered the first four films - after that the actors change (the original cast having signed up for the four books written at the time).
The first film - “The Keeper of Lost Causes” is just 96 minutes, and strips down the plot as a result but it is certainly engaging. After that the 2nd is 2 hours, the third 112 minutes and the fourth 119 minutes.
Two and three are workable police procedurals - but the fourth film “Journal 64/The Purity of Vengeance” really is absolutely brilliant. If you get the chance to watch it, I wholeheartedly recommend it - it does not need much knowledge of the characters and works as a stand alone drama, and it will keep you on the edge of your seat (despite a few implausible moments).
