The Value of Commercial Art

Commercial Art is all around us, but rarely do we study it as a true art form. My Blog is about what general artists, fine artists, professional and amateur artists can get from studying commercial works.

It will not study CAD or Photographic works, but only the works where artists ‘got their hands dirty’ producing them. As Commercial Art by definition was works that required reproduction, print techniques will also be included.

As a Commercial Artist for sixty of my almost 80 years, I will use some of my own work as examples, BUT most will be taken from hundreds of others - mainly in the 100 years 1850-1950.

A Blog is something new to me, so I hope I don’t make it too pedantic or boring. I also hope I can work out what I do next!!! Help -Stella!!!
