Coin bank?

I have collected a large pot of 1 and 2 cent coins over the last year and now the pot is full. Where do people take their small coins to be changed? Is there a coin bank at supermarkets like in the U.K.?

Our local Auchan, in Poitiers has a great machine for converting coins. I use my small change in the self service checkouts at my local LeClerc as well.

I used to do that, for my granddaughter. Then, I found that no banks accepted coins. It is possible to sort it out, but it’s a pain in the rear. I don’t do it any more. I make money transfer.

In the end I used them in the carrefour in Monaco. The lady at the self service till seemed very happy I was paying with lots of small change.

I had never seen any in france, but called in at Super U in Feytiat, near Limoges last week and they have one. Another trip to the airport yesterday and with a big bag of shrapnel got nearly 120 euros shopping token and no commission- result.
