Just a reminder to declare

Pools and shed and anything you have added, the fisc are getting more sophisticated about spotting oversights

What is the French fisc definition of veranda and why would it be taxable?

And so are the Architects de Bâtiments de France if you live in a historical zone limit and have changed or added something they don’t like. The Impôts and others use drones now so you can’t hide anything anymore and there are loads of in-ground pools that have never been declared nor have permission in the first place to install.

It’s a covered area and extends the habitable area, so it is an improvement to your home and therefore taxable. Same with a carport (ie covered area under which you can park a car) even tho’ that may be very simple - 4 posts and a roof.

A veranda is attached to your house, and an abri is usually separate.

Usually a véranda is enclosed & translates to conservatory in English.

An English veranda translates as a terrasse couverte.
