PM Theresa May says there will be no attempt to remain inside EU

You're quite right. I should have proposed "Even Churchill was against Britain being a member of the EU" .

So sad that your bitterness blinds to to the obvious.

Es tut mir Leid

John, you appear to be misconstruing comments. I have no argument with you and I'm not bitter, simply confused as to some of the assertions you make. The links you provided do not show Churchill was against EU membership and I have tried to illustrate that by copying relevant sections. What I am querying is what you base your assertion on. If you don't have a specific source then fine, just say so. The world is good. What is coming across as a repeated fallback position of sarcasm instead of substantiation if anyone queries something you've written is a little frustrating.

Jane you have a story!

why not try to write it and get it published?

Us head cook and bottle washers have a lot of hidden secrets!

It is good that you are able to talk about them.

Why not!

Harper Collins!

Next stop.

We have all been drinking too much rosé.

Barbara, my cousin came for lunch the other day. I had not seen her for thirty years. She said that my life was like a Catherine Cookson novel!

Maybe one day. I haven't even started on my mother in law.

Yes, very relevant Hilary until a bunch of liars upset the chess board. I've negotiated many successful deals, I understand give and take and unpredictability, do you? It's all about minimising risk and maximising benefit, which is exactly what the egotists driving Brexit have failed to do. I'm tired trying to explain that to you. It's so obvious it painful. Just keep singing Kumbayah and I'm sure it will all be fine :-)

I'm enjoying a little break at the moment, investigating the roots of Nazism. I've always been interested in how a country could be seduced by charlatans. I've visited many German cities on business over the years and some on holidays but this is a dedicated trip. Munich, Nuremberg, Dresden, (for balance) and Weimar then off up north. Amazing how the parallels between the populist garbage of Brexit and Trump resonate when one compares it to National Socialism.

Life is full of suprises! Here was I thinking that Jane in Burgandy was a

lady who has an untangled life and spends her time thinking about poaching

peaches and cherishing the memory of a perfect childhood.

Never judge a book by it's cover!

One always wondered just how the Germans could have been seduced. Now you have to compare the areas in UK that felt left out with the reparations paid by Germany after the First World War?

One of the reasons for coming to France was to put all that behind me, now the Brexiteers are causing uncertainty and worry.

I had an e mail from our UK MP and the only mention he made of the exchange rate caused by Brexit was that it would make holidays more expensive.

You can imagine the tone of my reply.

Yes I can imagine...wanting to leave the uncomfortable memories....and, of course

all the continued manufactured prosperty of UK and the fading of it's glory outlined by

Veronique very recently. But what will happen to us all if France decides to exit too!

Your book is for now Jane....

The Electoral Reform Society has discovered that people felt that they were deceived by the appalling lack of information during the Campaign, yet Theresa May says that there will be no Parliamentary debate.

What a shambles the UK is in, totally appalling.

And it's to be decided by Government only, no debate, no inclusion of Scotland etc. She's on a power trip.

Reckon so Valerie but what would happen if she had to face a 'vote of no-confidence' ?

She wouldn't chance it. I shouldn't think Ms Sturgeon's very happy unless they've had a little chat behind closed doors.

An unelected power trip.

Northern Ireland as well.

There's a fake "Remain" account EURef2031 on Twitter trying to circulate that a forthcoming March for Europe has been cancelled.

The geeks just traced it and the IP is an official UKIP account ...

How surprising!

Here in the Charollais our Collectif to help refugees has been hacked and the dirty so and so's are asking for donations.

You have to be so careful nowadays and I cannot see it getting better.

Our web servers are under constant hacking attempts, I have locked out hundreds of ip-addresses in a very short time and done other things to protect our systems.

As soon as you open a server for web-traffic hacking starts.

Some hacking is done by juniors but very many by really bad guys.

If you have any sensitive information such as money accounts, email lists, passwords you need to set up server to use SSL ( https://) protocol.
