16-year-old's driving licence application

Cheers Kim.. sounds as if one needs to fully understand and then weigh-up the pro’s and con’s of having “privilege” status.

Thanks Kim.

Stella, Yes we didnt understand and neither does anyone else it seems. Since Brexit some people have fallen between the cracks. Ministry of foreign affairs and employer suggested the TSS. It is unfair to let someone sit the code, do all the studying and spend €€€€€s, pass, then not issue a license.

It is what it is. We will sort it eventually i expect

Sadly the TdSS complicates it for everyone not Brexit on this occasion, but that buggered it up for everyone and continues to do so.

Best thing he can do is contact your prefecture and ask them if he can change his status and how to do it.

Hope you get it sorted soon, as you say it’s quite sad when he was all excited about driving.

Your son is the same age as my grandson (18) , so I understand a little of the disappointment when one is raring to go… zoom, zoom… and one is denied.

Getting his own 10 yr CdS is surely another adult step for your son.
Good luck to him :+1: :crossed_fingers:

I do but I didn’t chip in as I wasn’t sure if this applied to every TdSS, e.g. international organisations, as well as the one I had.

Anyone holding a TdSS regardless who or why it was issued fall under the same rules.

Why not get a British licence meanwhile? could this be legally done somehow?
