2013 Tax declaration - Impots sur le revenu

Apologies if this topic has already been discussed.

We are being advised by a French accountant that this year we will have to pay 8% social charges on rental income from our home in the UK. Any advise would be appreciated.

thanks

I have the answer to my own question as provided on another forum.

In this situation, the pink 2047, section VIII remains blank.

Thanks Doreen. As it's my first return, I can't do it online. I checked out the Start Business in France forum but she wants €80 to join, and I just can't afford that. Just have to hope that I can muddle along here - desk littered with papers, cold cup of tea, and the hair which I have pulled out this morning. :-)

Thanks Va. That worked just fine! Now just wading through it. :-(

Thanks, Claire.

Hopefully someone out there might know the answer as it certainly had the French admin staff puzzled last week!

Hi Sheila, try this link - it is the form at the end, simply "2042". I'm not sure what all the CK PRO things are - I didn't use them, just 2042 and 2042C. If it does not work, yell and I will email it to you.

Good morning everyone! I'm beginning to panic here - went around to the tax office but they are closed today! I have read through all 14 pages of this topic, and in spite of all the helpful replies, feel more confused than ever!

I finally found 2042C on line and downloaded and printed it out. It is 2042CK PRO. I am registered since 1st June last (2012) as "enseignant". Henry is listed as my ayant droit (not conjoint). I have filed my returns on line at the end of each quarter. I received an Attestion Fiscale 2012 which instructed me to complete Cases 5HQ, 5IQ and 5JQ (cadre D), although I cannot see any Cadre D on the printout.

Aside from income earned from my AE activities, we have no other income other than savings which are held in Ireland and tax has been paid on the interest earned, and I have a certificate to this effect from my bank. I also have an Irish current account.

After reading everyone's comments, I tried to access Form 2042 but only the 2011 form showed up on the link Tracy provided. I went back to the home page and tried to search for it, without any luck.

I would appreciate any advice. This is wrecking my head! Thanks.

Not Sure about the section VIII I never have to fill those bits in as we don't have a pension. All I know is the total of VI goes in Box 8Tk of the blue form.

Hi,

I'm looking for some help with the pink 2047 form, please.

I have filled in OH's public service pension on page 1 and also section VI on back page.

Is that it and should section VIII be left blank/ zeros in boxes 8TQ through to 8TX ?? (Have already visited local tax office where staff were unsure on this one as section VIII has changed slightly from last year!!)

We do not have an S1 (re: health) and I work under the A/E scheme.

Many thanks in advance.

Great minds think alike!!!

Me again. Just re-read your message - apologies.

There is a 8TA (I was thinking about 8TL!).

It's on the blue form, 2042CK, last page, section 8 Divers, top line.

Voila

Found it there is an extra page 2042 CK complimentaire it's on the back page!! Hooray.

I was right a visit to the tax office on the cards. I have to go for my parents anyway , as it's their first time and I don't have the same type of income, we will do two things at once. thanks Sarah.

Sorry I can't help you further.

Mine was to do with a UK gov pension, taxed in UK which should not be taxed here or have social charges applied.

D***n wonder what to do with the tax already paid out then Did you get an answer to that? I feel a visit to the tax office coming on....

Hi Claire

There is no 8TA this year. Based on last year's return, I was looking for it too as were 3 staff at my local tax office last Friday!!

Just had a closer look at my Notice and it says put it in Box 8TA only problem where is box 8TA can't find it on either form anyone found it?

I have lost which box I put the tax I paid in the UK in. I know where it was on the old version of the form but since they changed it a couple of years ago I haven't paid any but last year I had to, so I need to put it on the form. Anyone know which form? pink or Blue? and which box? any help appreciated . The rest is done I just need this.

Thanks for your response, Patrick. Even though it is subject to tax in Ireland? That seems like double taxation. The amount we receive is, fortunately, below the taxable level in Ireland however USC charges are taken out and if it was above the taxable level tax would be taken out as well.

Putting this amount on line 8TV of 2047 and 2042C, as discussed above, makes this pension subject to Contribution Sociale Généralisée (CSG) and Contribution de la Remboursement de la Dette Sociale (CRDS). :(

That is correct. But it should go on the front page in Pensions, Retraites, Rentes on 2047-k . Not sure about 2042c but on 2042k it goes in 1AS
