3916 after moving abroad

Hello. I moved abroad during 2025 (towards the end of the year). I am currently filling out my tax declaration for last year. However, the online system views me as non-resident because of my background, which means that it is not possible to add 3916 to my declaration.

Has anyone else run into this issue before? Is there a way to add the form? For obvious reasons, I am not able to go to the tax office to ask what I should do.

Appreciate the help!

Welcome to SF. If all else fails, I would simply enter your bank account information in the “Mention Expresse/observations et commentaires” text box at the end of your online return, and note this step is unfortunately necessary due to a problème informatique…..

You still have your online tax account? As you could send a message from your espace personnel?

This is a good idea, I will message the service. Thanks for the suggestion!

Hi @Confused_123 May I ask if you got more information on this in the meantime? I am facing the same problem. Thank you!

The answer was not particularly helpful I am afraid. I was told to click on a box which is greyed out on my declaration (so I cannot). Let me know if you got any advice

The system does have bugs. Do you have automatic translation on? That drives it wild. Clear cache and going back to beginning to check what you have selected can help.

Which box? Did it have a pencil symbol / edit thing next to it which you can click. Can you do a screenshot? 8UU is the box for bringing up / enabling 3916.

Yes, it was 8uu, which is greyed out and not clickable.

There seems to be a recurring theme in 2025 tax return season questions.raised on SF….namely the online system ‘misbehaving’ and not permitting data entries in key, relevant boxes. I doubt these are new problems (in that the system was not exactly perfect in prior years) but this year, judging from the quantity of similar questions, the issue seems to be more prominent. It is evidently, and understandably causing stress as deadlines loom.

At the risk of sounding like a cracked record, it really is worth considering the Mention Expresse suggestion (made above, and similar variants on other threads)..I’ve copied it below for convenience, particularly if no other solution seems to work.
