3D and More

I don't know if you are all aware, and forgive me if you are, but there is a very powerful Google application which you can download for free and which allows you to perform your own spacial planning, in 3D, before you get an architect involved. The tool is called Sketchup and it also comes with on line tutorials to get you started.

It's very handy for newbuilds and extensions alike. I have used it simply for space planning my house, but I find it very useful in my professional work too.

Have a play and enjoy.

I've been using Sketchup for a long time now. I love the way it makes doing such drawing and modelling so easy. It can be a little tricky to use, but you can usually find help or tutorials to explain things. There's also a huge online warehouse of objects that you can download and add to your models, for example windows, doors, furniture, all kinds of stuff. Brilliant software, my only bugbear is that there isn't a PortableApps version.

Now that could be an excellent tool - definitely going to try it. Thanks Nick!
