80 day re-registration for GB cars only if 80 days in 1 go?

Hello,

I have a 6 month Visa for France to start 1st November but I have heard that GB cars need to be re-registered in France after 80 days in France. I expect to be coming and going between GB and France during the 6 months, so do not know if I will be in France for 80 days on the trot. However it may be that it is not 80 days consecutively but 80 days in total after accumulated stays on French soil. Does anyone know and what is then the procedure please?

If your French house is your principal home then you must start re-registering after a month!

If it’s a short term tourist visa then you’re fine but you will need to check that your UK insurer will cover you for the entire duration.
