A day of shame, the liar triumphs and the Met facilitates it

With all due respect John. Just no. I am not even a football fan, but what I heard was very disappointing. Tim was pointing out the facts.

I am not sure what you are doing talking about people gluing themselves to pavements and what that has to do with anything.

Anyway I have only been to Liverpool once in the late 90:s but it seems like a great place

In fact one of the more sane places in the UK. A socialist city, that has a boycott of the Murdoch press and voted to remain. What’s not to like?

@John_Scully yes

Must admit I’ve only read the France24 report on these shenanigans - unsurprisingly, perhaps, the French and Spanish blame the English, the English blame the French.

I seem to recall though that thousands traveling to events they had no ticket to enter has been the cause of similar problems on several previous occasions.

I looked at the link you provided (and the Guardian too :slightly_smiling_face:) looks to me that the organisers (FiFA?) screwed up and some silly fans jumped the fence and the police retaliated, tough, Blame FIFA blame the idiots that jumped the fence but don’t blame the cops IMO. These things get out of control very quickly.

As per usual people who know eff all jump on the ‘Brits to blame’ bandwagon because it suits their personal narrative.

Care to retract that John and the allegation that over a hundred Liverpool fans were arrested?

Police, emergency workers, anyone in a job dealing with the public deserves respect. Just as those workers also need to conform to a code of conduct.

There are certainly a lot of problems within the French police force, just as there are in the UK.

@John_Scully here’s another article for you

No worries, Nadine Dorries, Liverpudlian, Liverpool supporter, self proclaimed "conduit for God to use” and passionate supporter of liar Johnson has weighed in on the side of the Liverpool supporters.

Why ? It happened before the match

There were 68 arrests

Well, that’s what the BBC said this evening, have they got it wrong? As for you being an apologist for… never :joy:

It’s hard to argue with prejudices, but one last try…

I do wonder how happy people who were pepper sprayed whilst waiting in line for the opera would be about some ignoramuses (who refuse to engage with the facts) blaming them for it on social media.

This afternoon, between the 75th anniversary of Gardener’s Questions Time and an excellent drama production (well worth a listen), the BBC reported that there had been over 100 arrests. I can’t be held accountable for inaccurate BBC reporting :joy:. Anyway, this is becoming partygateesque (sic) as in whether its 100 or not, 68 is enough.

Doesn’t say what nationality they were

Not on :worried:

Why are you assuming the police were at fault?

Where’s this happening? do you have a link?

What nationality the Liverpool supporters were?

You’re making a fool of yourself John.

You bet your booties John.

What nationality those arrested were

Yet you can call Tim an apologist for speaking the truth

Is there any mention in the Spanish media of a problem? I don’t know, it’s just a question but it might be informative :slightly_smiling_face:
