Unfortunately, not funny around here - a female hiker from a neighbouring village was shot and killed a few months back. I’ve just bought a bright red jacket for autumn walking in the forest- but it’s not bullet-proof…

Thanks, Heard some shooting while walking in the woods this morning. In fact one doesn’t even need to go out - two years ago an English guy a few kilometres west of us was killed while pruning a tree in his garden.
Hunting’s necessary around here, but a couple of hunt free days a week would be very welcome;

Imprisonment?
Fine?
Civil damages paid to family or person’s estate?
Withdrawal of gun licence, and lifetime ban on handling or possessing any weapon?
Shooter is now ostracised socially?
Liability paid up by any mandatory huntsman’s or sportsmen’s insurance?
Or… le shrug?
I find the clown or whatever that horror is infinitely more disturbing than Judith with the head of Holofernes.
