As a sort of inverse to that, I knew someone back in the day who had a stall in a specialist food market. They and some other stallholders had a way of coping with the punters who went on about being able to get it all much cheaper in Tesco. They would nod their heads and say “There we are then…”

Several men are in the locker room of a golf club. A mobile on a bench rings and a man engages the hands-free speaker function and begins to talk. Everyone else in the room stops to listen.

MAN: “Hello”
WOMAN: “Hi Honey, it’s me. Are you at the club?”
MAN: “Yes.”
WOMAN: “I’m at the shops now and found this beautiful leather coat. It’s only £2,000; is it OK if I buy it?”
MAN: “Sure, go ahead if you like it that much.”
WOMAN: “I also stopped by the BMW dealership and saw the new models. I saw one I really liked.”
MAN: “How much?”
WOMAN: “£90,000.” ;
MAN: “OK, but for that price I want it with all the options.”
WOMAN: “Great! Oh, and one more thing… I was just talking to Janie and found out that the house I wanted last year is back on the market. They’re asking £980,000 for it.”
MAN: “Well, then go ahead and make an offer of £900,000. They’ll probably take it. If not, we can go the extra eighty-thousand if it’s what you really want.”
WOMAN: “OK. I’ll see you later! I love you so much!”
MAN: “Bye! I love you, too.”

The man hangs up. The other men in the locker room are staring at him in astonishment, mouths wide open. He turns and asks, “Anyone know whose phone this is?”

We need a “humour with a political point thread”. I thought this one was supposed to be kept for pure humour.

This is on the border really, not party or personally political, but topically political. I’d be inclined to let it go, aware there’s a slope here we don’t want to slide down.

Its only political if you want it to be, I put it on here because I thought it was funny, if I wanted it to be political I would have put it on the EV thread.

I’m not sure about that…

Well feel free to remove the post,

No, I wasn’t thinking of doing that - like @Ancient_Mariner I think it’s borderline at most, partly it’s that I’ve been thinking a “political humour” thread might not be a bad idea in and of itself.

My apologies, I took it the wrong way, I wouldn’t mind a political humour thread being introduced but I fear it would stir up a hornets nest. brexit/brexshit, remainer/remoaner springs to mind notwithstanding our erstwhile politicians of both sides.

Its certainly topical but even midly amusing with Sunak and his band of theives giving out contracts for oil, gas and coal

The Great Delusion under a Conservative Government.
