We will be returning our leased Peugeot e2008 three months early in France and leasing the same model in England. I am hoping that Stellantis to Stellantis insurance might help the quote.![]()
So was I but my fears were unfounded.
As @JohnH mentions, you have to be totally honest when filling in the online report, if not, expect a reduction.
Sorry @ChrisMann,I cannot agree such a service is a last resort, perhaps in the UK but not in French in my experience.
We sold a car last summer which we bought in 2020 for 7000 euros. We were offered 5600 euros and following an inspection we received 5600 euros.
The car we have just sold we bought band new in 2016 for 18k euros. Sold last week with 100k on the clock and 9 years 3 months old for 9100 euros.
Yes, inflation has changed in 9 years but selling a car at 50% of what it cost new after 9 years is a win win in my book.
We have just picked up our new to us citreon berlingo here in the Uk bought from Cinch who I feel sure @Corona will have something to say about but we have 14 days to find out if we like it and if not they will collect it from our door with a 100% refund, whatās not to like.
Continuing our new adventure, we complete on our new home on Monday and the icing on the cake is we have agreed an offer on one of our rentals we have decided to sell.
Celebration time.
Not a problem when you are buying, as you read itās when selling I have potential issue. Thatās the good part but also part of the regulations. I did wonder if that was something Suepj could do rather than hirering.
Glad it worked for you in France - I have read horror stories about the UK operation, though they may not be representative!
Actually in that case the ambulance was in the right. If it had its light flashing then it has priority even going through a red light which it is allowed to do. The ambulance has priority over another vehicle even if that other vehicle has a green light and the ambulance has a red.
I was a witness to just such an accident in London. Exceptionally good visibility around the road junction, clear day, no other traffic An ambulance with blue light on (canāt remember if siren as well but think not) very cautiously and carefully went through a red light. T-boned by an idiot driver who thought he didnāt have to look around going through the lights as he had a green light. Completely the fault of the driver with the green light as he thoight a green light was a magic carpet and didnāt look.. No excessive speed, perfect visibity all around the junction and no other factor involved.
The police were very glad to have me as a witness as they said about the green light not guaranteeing right of way āNot a lot of people know thatā. My driving instructor waa an ex-ambulance driver which is how I knew.
So John, are you accusing all solicitors of being squeaky clean ?
ā¦..or are they just excellent car owners !
I recall the financial director of an FE college where I was chair of governors. He was brilliant at his job and kept a tight ship, the college was financially sound.
We had an occasion when we were having a team dinber and I was shocked when talking to said financial director when he informed me he was maxed out on 6 credit cards!
Dont judge a book by its cover.
Mechanics have the worst cars etcš
And builders never finish fixing those things on the house.
Sorry @JohnBoy ![]()
No, theyāre all fixed the day you move out!
Crickey, thatās good going!
Fingers crossed that happens to me.
Yeah, this is what Iāve always thought. Last resort kind of thing.
That is really interesting to know. I appreciate your reply ![]()
Today we finally completed the purchase of our new home.
Furniture arrives tomorrow and we will be spending our first night there, after I have assembled our bed.
After 29 being homeless and our dear Barney in boarding kennels for the same number of days we finally get him back tomorrow.
Well done and enjoy your new home. We finally got the TOR 1 form off yesterday and signed the contract for a rented flat. This was not made easier by second line verification needing a UK phone number. We hope to move at the end of February.
Congratulations Mr John!
