It may well have been “leaked” intentionally. HRH may not feel that he can let such a travesty occur without at least standing up and trying to do something. It must be finger-chewingly difficult to be a constitutional monarch.
I don’t think that he would do something like that with all the eyes of the world on the Royal Family at the moment.

Mmmm. This is assuming that the opinion is not shared by HM. I imagine she feels very at odds with much being done in her name by the current government. As leaders of the CofE have unilaterally come out to condemn the policy of shipping asylum seekers to Rwanda, the Church’s representative on the throne may well concur. Embarrassed by her son and heir standing up for humanitarian intervention, possibly not. Supportive of her very sleazy second son perhaps more difficult but bless her, she soldiers on
