It can be beneficial though, injury. One of my last dog journeys was collecting 2 dogs from Sicily in Northern Italy and I stopped for the night at a small resto not far from Turin for the night. There were some French routiers in there but before I entered I tried to walk the 2 of them first. No1 got out ok but the 2nd was terrified in the rear cage and would not move. I raised my head which then whacked the sharp corner of the rear lifter. I thought no more about it and went into the caff for my apero and meal. As I entered , the patron’s wife cried in horror and ushered me to a seat before disappearing to fetch bandages and disinfectant. Apparently there was blood all down my face which I hadn’t noticed, but I was the centre of attention for quite sometime. 3 French drivers and myself, Patron and Patronne, all shared the meal together and the atmosphere was so special I never noticed my injury. 
BTW, both dogs emerged for the last pee before bed.
