Adding husband to carte grise

Can you all see “Zimbabwe” when you consult Cerfa 13750.05? Under “pays” (country).
Has their site been hacked or is this just more administrative chaos?

Clearly some poor - but cyber-savvy - soul got so frustrated with the process, they hacked in and put this as a joke. I bet Zimbabwe has better IT, though.

Perhaps he’ll ask them to run a Government department.

Dept of Harley Davidson and Dodge challenger owners would be a good start.

I have to confess I call them Hardly-Driveables…

Hardly Ablesons

Years ago I bought a new Dyna Wideglide on a whim. In my experience HDs are actually pretty awful. More a fashion statement than a bike.

Son in law changes his bike every year depending where he enjoys riding. The most comfortable was the electra glide but not suitable for the terrain and their electric model as used in the Long Way Up, but charging points in the texas desert was a pain and HD warned him they were discontinuing making them so parts would not be available after a certain time. HD built him a custom bike as per The Terminator but not so good for several days rideouts with the club back in Dallas. All have been extremely reliable but the Ducatti landed him in hospital.

The formulaire I downloaded does not have any country already filled-in.
Once I downloaded it I saw there’s an arrow/ dropdown (on the downloaded document) next to country/Pays and you choose which one you want…

take a look and see :+1: :crossed_fingers:

Maybe you accidentally pressed the down arrow on your keyboard and it jumped to the bottom of the list?

They’ve probably not gone round to changing it! Have you tried Rhodesia?
We had the opposite problem when my Dad died as my mother was insistent that his death certificate should say born in Rhodesia, but computer would only accept Zimbabwe…

Thanks Stella, Chris & Jane.

Nope, for once I didn’t press anything. The form I found on the gouv.fr site isn’t editable.

No matter! I cancelled the procedure yesterday. It’s taken them 2 months to work out which form I need (despite me telling them) and they’re asking me to send them a copy of my cancelled carte grise yet still haven’t even mentioned costs (which I’ve calculated myself will be several hundred euros).
Surely it would be more logical to tell people the cost before getting them to cancel their carte grise?
The person clearly doesn’t know what they’re doing. So I’ll leave it for now. And maybe try again in a few months but next time when they ask in the dialogue box what I want to do, I’ll just say I want to add a “person”. “Husband” clearly confused them.

Looking at the website
Ajouter une personne sur sa carte grise | Service-Public.fr.
it seems that adding a spouse some time after the marriage is the same process as adding a third party (ie full cost of immatriculation), not the same process as adding a new spouse (nominal admin fee).
And it simply directs you to the calculator so you can calculate it yourself.
Simulateur - Estimer le coût d'un certificat d'immatriculation (ou carte grise) - Service-Public.fr

I tried to explain that to them from the beginning. That even though the person I was adding was my husband, this was irrelevant and, under their own rules, it should be treated as a “changement de titulaire”.

I found the calculator myself. I wasn’t directed to it automatically when I started the procedure on the actual France Titres platform.
And given the potential costs involved, I think that it’s rather rash of them to tell people to cross out (ie cancel) their carte grise before they’ve been formally notified of the fee.
And before France Titres has checked that all the other documents submitted are correct.
Maybe I just stumbled on the wrong person but surely getting the applicant to cancel their carte grise should be the final step, after all the checks have been done and the bill paid.

I suppose they assume that the calculation will give the same result for you as it does for them. As I recall, when you apply for a new cg for a vehicle you have bought you do not get a quote upfront.

No, they told me how much the modified CG would cost. I guess if you are registering for the first time you have no choice, but if you are electing to change your CG you do.
