Adding someone to the property title deeds

Is this a problem to do in France or a simple trip to a Notaire?

Surely this would be a partial transfer of ownership and therefore not “simple”.

Depends! (This is France remember)

To change a title deed the notaire will need to create a new title deed. If the person to be added is not husband/wife then this opens up the question of tax as will be a donation,

le notaire doit procéder à une mutation immobilière qui donne lieu à la création d’un nouvel acte de propriété .

It was because I mentioned the possibility of home owners getting a 6 month visa. Only a possibilty I know. Seems Spain may do something similar as income from tourism has dropped drastically and they make it even harder to take up residency. Should put a dent in a place in the sun.

It might well be that a married couple would put both names on the SecondHome Deeds (if one of them is currently “missing out” ) then both of them would be set to get the “new” visa (if it gets the go ahead).

A Notaire will be able to advise how this can be done… :crossed_fingers:
