I agree whole heartedly - they both sound awful! They could take lessons from hearing how much better they might sound.
I canāt listen to them
Then itās the reading glassesā¦but theyāre no good for Today in Parliament, or PMās question time. I feel the same way whenever I hear an AI voice - I switch off asap. I sympathize.
But rather that than Trumpās nasal whineā¦
There isnāt any aspect of that being that fails to irritate, or annoyā¦
Much as I hate myself for being so shallow, I also agree and it grates that theyāre so poor at communications. Having met the PM, he comes across a lot better face to face.
Michael Goveās voice, thankfully not heard rom so much any more, was one that really set my teeth on edge.
Not just the delivery but also the content
Margaret Thatcher changed her voice on the advice of her PR people, but apparently went DIY and did not take lessons from a proper voice coach, and did some damage as a result (plus ended up sounding weird and a gift to Janet Brown and other impressionists).

Liz Truss tried the same thing. She was useless at doing that too
I saw that she was a member of the libdems when she was a teenager. Part of me thinks she was a sleeper agent for them all this time, and was just playing the long game.
I dare say she wasnāt much good at that either!

Sometime in the near future YouTube users will have their age, whether under or over 18 years of age, determined by YouTubeās AI.
We will use AI to interpret a variety of signals that help us to determine whether a user is over or under 18. These signals include the types of videos a user is searching for, the categories of videos they have watched, or the longevity of the account.
When the system identifies a teen user, weāll automatically apply our age-appropriate experiences and protectionsā¦
Not sure that I like this sort of surveillance but good for protecting the innocent?
YouTube's new AI age verification is coming soon ā here's what's going to change | Tom's Guide
Sounds good to me.
If they can do that, why not also hunt and shut down every nonce online?
Probably because theyāre not on YouTube and usually somewhere rather darker (in so many senses of the word).
They are known to trawl social media sites masquerading as children to entrap children.
If AI can be programmed to analyse userās age where children are pretending to be adults, then AI can be programmed to identify older users pretending to be children.
I truly hope we can harness AI to wipe out this online scourge.
