How! I tried and got nice crispy biscuits.
My daughter makes doughnuts with two ingredients that come out soft and then she puts them in a bag of sugar to shake about. She does bread too.
I had to monkey with the recipe and timing. My air fryer is a cheapo entry-level, so there is that factor, too. I had to try it a few times.
So it a family secret?
When I went to the Telethon meal at the salle a couple of weeks ago there was a pile of very tasty green beans on the plate. Never having seen them on sale on the veg counter I had a look in the tinned aisle.
A big chunky tin of the stuff was glaring at me so I bought it and decided on 2 experiments. The first day in the steamer with spuds was excellent, very tasty. The 2nd day piled in a paper insert and roasted in the AF it was very different but equally tasty. Less soft and moist, more dry and crunchy, but with the excellent gravy I made with a packet of 3 peppers soup and liquid from the bean tin, absolutely delicious.
I will be buying more tins on Monday.
BBC Radio 4’s Sliced Bread researched Air Fryers a week or so ago. I was surprised by their conclusions.
Better than Johnny’s
Is that from the Greg Wallace cook book?
I still can’t figure out why anyone would want to fry air.
Everyone knows it tastes better grilled.
Solid air is the best.
Haven’t heard John Martyn for years - I had a friend who was a huge fan so got him inflicted on me a lot back in the day.
Not really my cup of tea, I find him a bit dirge-like. Each to their own, I’m sure my taste in music is not universally shared.
I saw JM live quite a few times before he keeled over and he remains a strong favourite on my playlists
I preferred curved air
Or “Liquid Acrobat As Regards The Air” by The Incredible String Band? (there’s a really obscure one for you).
Can you share?
Perspex electric violin and all.
Typical SF, bifurcating thread. One leg 70s rock, the other cake recipes.
Maybe The Jam could be a unifying element…
Glass would have been more appropriate as the drummer was a scion of the Pilkington (glass) family.
