I have both of those as well thank you! The Canon inkjet is purely for printing photos.
This was ruled illegal in the EU for the statutory warranty period (extended warranties are the gift of the manufacturer and can be restrictive). After this, they started blocking third party ink cartridges from working. Then that was ruled illegal in the EU. Really pi**ed HP off.
One of the main causes of blocked print heads is when people turn them off from the mains when not in use. You must leave your inkjet printer connected to the mains (turning it off using a button is OK) as it will periodically go through a periodic clean cycle to stop clogging.
I might keep the new phone after all, as the supplier assures me that all their phones are universally French. I think it has been briefly used by an earlier buyer, an oriental, but it looks to be in pristine condition. AND it has the better chipset of the 2 that are used – Snapdragon.
I’ll do some further checking before I decide. I had a similar past problem of buying a pre purchased phone, which I bought as new from Amazon FR, and that phone proved to be OK and which I kept.
It’ll save me the bother of returning it and possibly going through the same hassle again. This phone has 7 years of update support ahead of it, so will last me ‘til I’m 90!
If I turn off my HP, I get an email from HP telling me that.
Not sure I would like HP knowing exactly what I am doing with my printer. I’m assuming you were asked permission for it to do this ?
Agree on Snapdragon. Seen Asia gets Snapdragon chip on my phone, Europe model of same name gets inferior Exynos? Samsung chip. I think my phone was Asia market phone too and it’s fine.
FTFY
Actually you are right that the print heads will clog if the printer is left powered down for any length of time - but “cleaning” print heads usually involves discharging ink into a tank within the printer.
There is no way to empty the tank or re-set the printer’s idea of how full it is, so when the printer determines that it is full it will declare itself e-waste and refuse to work.
Yes its part of the agreement for free ink for life, so far its about 10 years old and not bought a drop! Ok I dont do the amount of printing these days but the monitoring means they send me refils when ink gets low
I’m still in the States, and we have those outfits here, too. They worked great with my old printer. This is a new printer/scanner/copier - it is configured to NOT accept anything except original HP cartridges. They got smart!
They’re not all like that. The very cheap ones are. Mine has a replaceable waste ink absorber box. It’s not that easy to replace but at least you don’t have to remove the print head like you do with other printers. With the volume of printing I do , hopefully I’ll never have to.
I contacted Samsung FR about my phone and they tell me my phone is for the HK market, and there are some features, like Google AI, not present, but Galaxy AI is comparable. I’m not disappointed. It’s comparable with the US version I think. I’ve transferred all info from my old phone, and can carry on as before but with a host of features to explore, which I probably won’t use. Too much ‘stuff’ on smartphones these days.
And often difficult to get rid of it.
My printer is a laser printer for that very reason. It gets used a couple of times a year and works perfectly every time. An ink jet would be a pain. If I want something more colourful there’s a great print shop in the nearby town.
Yes, good choice for occasional use.
Colour laser all in one printers are a prince’s ransom though.
But very few private individuals need them, and I certainly wouldn’t pay anywhere near as much to ransom either of the UK’s present princes.
Wouldn’t piss on A****w if he were on fire but Edward’s a decent sort, I’d probably pay a tenner to get him ransomed.
I know all about the running costs of those. Lovely things but seeing how much the ink cartridges cost was eye watering. Our colour photocopier was also on the network and that had a magic benefactor because in 10 years of having it our establishment was never billed for it. One of life’s mysteries.
