Amazon has lost case against book delivery charge

As somebody who is a huge supporter of independent bookshops I am delighted that the case has been lost that Amazon brought to overturn the €3 minimum delivery charge for books under €35!

And if you don’t want to pay the charge there are always libraries.

Yes, good news!

and I read recently that our local library had cancelled the necessity to “join/register” with them… presumably anyone can go in there and use their facilities …
Certainly worth investigating further :+1:

I haven’t read the link so are these real books bought from Amazon UK and posted to France, rather than Kindle books from the same source but delivered electronically?

I am a member of a local library, but I don’t remember any English language books being in there.

Real books from Amazon anywhere and put in post.

Our library is a wonderful place, it has comfy chairs, a coffee machines, toilets and games as well as book, dvds, newspapers etc. All housed in a wonderful 13th century stone hospital building with huge windows and arches. Isn’t it a lovely place to read?
