In this case it is him being the girl 
seriously I’m sure it will be fine, he is being a girl about it and worrying! He has always been very proud (and rightly) of his plasterboarding skills. I remember in our last house someone pointing out they had never seen a French artisan do a better / more perfect job than he did!

It may even have been a sort of compressed cardboard… sounds terrible, but effective and maybe not noxious.
