I guess they are angry as @Bristolpete says, and maybe thatās somewhat understandable. I guess many are quote ājust good honest people doing their bestā as @flobil says, but so were the citizens of the Weimar Republic. They were fooled and Trumpās menagerie is being fooled too.
I just donāt have it in me to look rank stupidity in the face, and one can see it in massed ranks at Trumpās rallies, and not call it out for what it is.

Which is exactly why Project 2025 calls for a defunding of the public education system in the US. They would really prefer that future US citizens donāt get the opportunity to learn how the think critically. That would be just for the elite who can afford to send their children to private schools.

Sorry for a slightly late reply ā and @hairbear has basically said what I would have done. Yes you are right and the RW are quite happy to keep the masses under educated. In fact education, particularly critical thinking skills is one of the best defences against populism because there is a better chance people realise complex problems have multiple causes and are rarely fixable with simple solutions.
Indeed - Trump is not the only threat, just one of the biggest.
I fear if he looses there will be civil war in America. If he wins there should ābe but I think sensible, democratic leaning people will probably just ātry to make the best of it until 2028ā - for their sakeās I hope there is an election in 2028 and there is still a country left to defend.
Trump has already as good as promised to find some thin excuse and lock up his political opponents, and even if he canāt last much longer given heās 78 and not in the best of health there is worse behind him in the GoP now .
