And if YOU made the rules? Let's get creative! (LOL)

Spoilsport Suzanne....speedos and shower caps are the highlight of my trips to the pool!

great Norman....lovely bit of info...

Everybody, it would probably shock the French more than anybody else as it is. ;-)

For us or them?

Compensation will be paid to all citizens of EU nations for regulations obeyed and followed to the letter, thereby causing confusion and mental breakdown.

It is compulsory for the heads of all French government departments to undertake training In how to flout EU regulations and make sure that all their staff totally understand and practise them.

It is compulsory for all heads of government departments to undertake training in how to flout EU regulations and pass this on to all of their offices, as France should not have to pay for anyone who is not French, no matter how much the regulations insist they should.

I must be out of date re the UK, probably thinking about when I was young. My father was not given his news in a very kind way

@Louise, you have an automatic right to see what is held on your medical files in UK.
When you are about to receive bad news, it is important that it is given to you in the kindest and clearest way and, at the same time, you have the chance to talk about the course of treatment which will be the most effective for you.

If you go to a radiographer in France, he will show you the pictures and give you his opinion. In my case, he showed me the nodules in both lungs, said nothing and gave me an open letter to my chest specialist saying that I had secondaries.

This is the most appalling way to treat anyone.

As my specialist was on holiday, I went to see my new medicin traitant who sent me to an onchologist straight away.

As it has turned out, the lung biopsy I had to undergo showed no cancer, so two months huge stress and I didn’t have cancer after all!

Had just started to read this, sometimes not sure if you are all really keeping the rules, breaking them or ignoring them totally, so some of my comments may not be within the rules.

Bogus rule no (lost count) No female drinks more than one (two if really desparate) glass of wine or not too strong apero even if she has walked to the event, without having the reputation of a confirmed hardened drinker and no female ever touches the hard stuff without having the reputation of an alcoholic

My dear friend Angie, who worked at the original Frank Cooper's Jam Factory in Oxford at 16 ( 46 years ago ) went to the Doc with nerves, who suggested she took up smoking.

Brilliant, Brian, so true Emily

Yes it is rude but happens all the time. I am always accused of overcooking the meat in the good old British tradition, but then my father used to say of my mother's cooking that it was either a burnt offering or a bloody sacrifice - obviously culinary skills don't run in my family

But there have been alot of complaints in the UK about not being able to see your results

I'd drink a lot too if I had to tell some of the lies they propound!

Agree for the first two, however, when I arrived in France and blew my horn, was told by dear OH that no one in France blew their horns and it was a very rude English habit I must stop

Remember Nick, Napoleone di Buonaparte was a man of small stature and big ambitions. But you can rest assured he had the big horse whatever? Plus Big Josephine. The insurers are just reflecting that anomaly.

What do you mean, Emily, women not entering tabacs?

Louise, it is against the rules to believe any rules you find on this thread, well as a rule!
