Just wondering where people generally go for their annual service/oil change and approximately how much they pay? Just been charged 268e for a simple oil change for a diesel Renault Captur!
Thanks in advance

What other work did they claim to do?
That’s a lot even by dealer standards for engine oil and a filter change.
Leclerc Auto,if you have one near you, usually about €99 for an oil change and filter.
we go to the local concession/garage.
Presumably, unless you went to a “cowboy” things will have been done in a proper manner.
What were you quoted??
and what did the Invoice detail ???
Incidentally… did you have an Annual Service… or a simple Oil Change.
Your handbook/manual will outline what is involved.
I go to my neighbour who is a registered mechanic, about €130 (9.5 litres of oil and filter inc).
I would hope it’s a bit more than a simple oil change. If it was a proper service they’d have got their torch out too.
We paid about that much but they did what seemed like a “normal” tune up compared to what was usual in the US. They had the car for most of the day. We went to Norauto.
We use Norauto too. Seems to be the best value for money. On Google maps there are customer reviews.
I bought an oil pump (powered from the car battery) from Lidl last year for 12 euros and do my own vidange. Just push it down the dipstick tube when the oil is hot and suck it all out. No need to get under the car or jack it up. I’ve bought oil for around 15 euros when Leclerc has a sale. Filters are about 6 euros for my Peugeot on Amazon.
I’m waiting for some car-buff to identify the differences between Annual Service and “simple oil change” for a Diesel Renault Captur…

surely someone has got a diesel car ??? ![]()
@Smudge2012 Please can you tell us what was detailed on the invoice??
I would say that the cabin air filter and fuel filter are not annual items. Cleaning injectors- can’t be more than dumping a bottle of some solvent in your tank, What is the battery charge for?
Ah, that’s not just a simple oil change, they seem to have given the car a good seeing-to. ![]()
I agree, but doing some of those things annually is overkill.
Our garage works according to the Service Booklet and notes what has been done and when.
If a garage doesn’t have the Service Booklet then erring on the side of caution would be a good idea. ![]()
We don’t know what was done at the last Service or, indeed, when that was ![]()
He changed the battery on the key remote!
If you go to a franchised dealer then they’ll do what it says on the service schedule.
Although the car might have been taken for a service every year, that doesn’t mean all of those things have been changed every year.
There’s oil, and there’s oil😉
Yeah, I know. The car has 210k on it. It meets spec fully synthetic. I would rather change it myself twice a year with this than stretch out the expensive stuff.
Is the diesel fuel filter behind the inner wheel arch on a Captur?
No way they removed and cleaned the injectors. They checked for codes are threw a bottle of injector cleaner in the fuel tank.
