Any cheerful news today? (Nothing negative please! 🙂) (Part 2)

I have used nutritional yeast before it does add a nice slight cheesy taste

Could’ve used a beef tomato…

Son and I went out to the Chinese restaurant / buffet a few kms away. Our only transport was bikes. It may have been a good few years since I’d been on one and my ex DIL is much taller than me (she lent me her bike) and it us a funny step through, no gears, no front brakes. It was dark (and icey on the way home) but I’m pleased to say I made it!!! Son did have to yell ‘mother get out of the middle of the road’ a few times (,I was a bit wobbly!) but all good :face_with_peeking_eye::face_with_peeking_eye::rofl::rofl:

Oh I adored abseiling when I was at school I was on the cadets abseiling team and we put on all sorts of wonderful shows on fair days ect as well as some great waterfall and free fall descents!

I did wonder at the timing (with the drive home ect) of ice skating when I took a fall (from standing still too :rofl:). Because I love you all I’ll share the moment and amusement. You’re welcome merry Christmas :rofl::mrs_claus::mrs_claus:

Just as I’m tipping over:

And once I’m flat on my arse :rofl::rofl:

A bit dangerous there @toryroo , I can imagine what you would say to me if I had been so adventurous.

My cheerful news is that yesterday I went to my doctor rdv, the one that was cancelled by ClicDoc at the same time that it was confirmed, and he pointed out to me that I should still be wearing my sling, but also, noting my mental stress in forgetfulness, he tasked one of the receptionists to book me 2 rdvs. One, endlessly failed by me and friends, with my heart surgeon, confirmed a couple of hours later, and the other with a memory specialist ( I ‘lost’ all my ordonnances, replaced kindly by the pharmacie from their records). Still awaiting that but their task is to keep trying. The backup, I presume, is a sealed letter she gave me for that department to post on the way home, but the PO was closed, maybe today. :joy:

Easily done on ice!

I still remember the mortification I felt 40 years ago when I was on my motorbike and stopped at a junction. Unbeknownst to me I had stopped on a patch of black ice and the bike just slipped from under me landing me on my backside…

At least the bloke in the car behind me had a good laugh…

I remember skating on Tarn Hows many moons ago.

When our children were young teens the Cherwell valley would flood and freeze every winter, and one year we skated on the ice. Neighbours who had been around here longer than us recounted skating on the canal, even under the bridges because the weather was colder and it would even freeze under them.

When I was a teenager my parents bought me a ‘Dawes Diana’ bike. I was so proud of it because it had a blue checkered seat. I used to ride it at every opportunity - I was so proud of it. I remember waiting in a cue at our teachers desk to tell everyone what I had had for my birthday during the summer holidays and I was the envy of most of the girls who wanted a bike like mine. Nowadays though, I reckon I would be like you Tory - a bit wobbly. And the saddles they have on some of these racing bikes today brings tears to my eyes just thinking about how uncomfortable they would be.

I used to see it and I thought it was a terrible waste of space, but now I’m hooked.

The best way to start your New Year!

Thank you ladies. This is the longest I’ve ever been in hospital and I didn’t think I’d be so emotional about being able to leave. Very happy though.
