Any cheerful news today? (Nothing negative please! 🙂) (Part 2)

Who is he, Superman? 40 metres, by hand? I do hope you don’t mean 40 metres deep. :astonished:

Sometimes I do think he is Superman David. He has so much stamina. But no - it wasn’t 40 metres deep. It was about 30+cm deep, enough to make sure the pipe won’t be affected by frost.

I feel for him, driven on with a wet lettuce…or does this man amongst mice, get a dry one?

Whichever, Stuart, nice one. :joy:

This girl just signed a lease to day in Albi for a 54 m² flat with 2 chambres, a terrace, a small but private garden, on a quiet cul-de-sac with mostly private homes - 7 on each side, and my building and the adjacent one being the only two rental properties. Better yet? There is small owner-planted vegetable farm behind me and a view to the distant hills. Did I say quiet? Within the peripherique, 18-22 minute walk to centré ville. Also? The owner just upgraded my building with all new windows, new electronic shutters, exterior insulation upgrade (from E to C), and something else I can’t recall.

I landed 29 mai. I found this place 11 juin and toured it 13 juin. Signed today; less than a month after immigrating.

I am taking this as a sign I was meant to leave the USA right when I did! Pinch me!

Well, there’s no stopping you. A girl who gets things done pretty quick - good on ya! Stuart and I wish you the very best of everything in your new abode with your beautiful dogs.
And it was only a gentle pinch - I bet you didn’t even feel it.
Love from Rachel and Stuart xx

The best (easiest) parking is beneath the excellent Musée Soulages (mention of museum omitted in the week’s Connexion feature on Rodez).

Other advice: like many other French small cities, give it a miss on a Monday.

Sounds good, TY. I was surprised at how busy city center Albi was today - a great lunch with two other expats I’ve recently met, and most of the shops were actually open.

Reading through @Rachel05 & @Jane_Williamson posts…
Have you thought about connecting the well water to the toilets, and washing machines?
This is what I’m doing.

When we first came to France, we used the well for all our water then when the tests became ‘negative’ we decided to go on to the mains water. We’ve got the well set up to water all the garden (it’s quite large - just over 2 acres) and we’re happy with how things are but thank you for thinking about us,

:clinking_glasses::champagne: :potted_plant:

Jolly well done!

Duly pinched!

I’m guessing your hugely positive attitude has a large part to play in getting things going so quickly. Well done you.
