We’ve found that aparthotels are pretty good too.

Yes, we had one in Madrid that was wonderful. Wish there were more of them.

We’ve just had our first log delivery for this year. We decided to try out a new supplier for half of our needs as our usual supplier didn’t come up to scratch last year - mind you we were late in comfirming our order so got the fag-end of his stocks.

The wood from the new supplier is looking good. We’re pleased so far.

We seem to have a lot of grapes coming on the vine this year - I wonder if I should prune away the smallest bunches?

Mildly annoyed to see the phone cam completely missed focus.

Yes. Gives the others a chance to fatten up. In fact if you are serious, you then start to remove the smaller grapes on the remaing bunches with a fine pair of scissors.

Thank you Sue. I’m semi-serious, not really expecting too much and not eve sure these are grapes for consumption, but interested to get the best from the vine if possible. There’s about 40 bunches coming this year, so maybe lose half of them?

If in doubt tap on the area you want to be in focus. Once the yellow box appears (this would be on an iPhone) you can slide your finger up or down just to the right of the box to adjust exposure - useful if the subject is backlit.

I imagine Android have a similar feature,

I can select a specific area of the screen, but didn’t think I’d need to (bright light, tiny sensor, lots of detail in the centre of the frame). It’s not the end of the world. :stuck_out_tongue:

But we’d all have been a bit hacked off if it had been!

The grapes which appear on my one and only (natural apparently) vine are consumed by the birds long before maturity. I am happy with that, wine is cheap and easy to get, but birds flying around the pond are a real treat. :grinning:

In days gone by I walked from Bilbao to Santiago (carrying 2 backpacks part of the way as my friend hurt her back - so a couple of buses to) and at times were along the narrow gauge railway track and watched this cute train go past at a speed of a slow jog. I always thought it would be fun to do if I had the money

Our second log delivery arrived shortly after the first one and we have just finished stacking them all in the barn - 12 steres in total. Just in time too as the storm clouds are closing in from the west
