Not with your system… but OH and I have noticed problems with Internet in general…
going very slow, almost grinding to a halt… no idea why… perhaps “leaves on the lines”.
then the death march turns into absolutely no movement at all … and just as we’re giving up… it comes back… slowly.
so there might well be a “general problem…”
Yes I’ve just dumped Bouygues after 2 hellish months.
Before switching to them I had tested the network speed availability constantly for 10 months and it was absolutely fine. Testing was via UK roaming phone which should, if anything, get a worse speed than a local connection would get.
The week I ported to Bouygues the signal started disappearing and has progressively moved further from my house meter by meter ever since. As well as 4G becoming 3G and the final abomination - 2.5G (GPRS).
Sorry, not ignoring you, but we have had no internet for about 10 days. Got worse and worse the stopped totally.
Eventually had to get a replacement for the 4G box, and everything is now hunky dory. If not even faster than before.
Thanks all
Andy
Make sure that you’re not hitting your monthly data limit and having your service throttled to near zero or suspended.
A friend of mine using a Huawei 4G router and a Free SIM asked me over to check what was going on and everything his end looked fine, but he was getting zero traffic over the 4G cellular link. Logged into his router and it could ping Google.com successfully.
Anything that required a wider data pipe than a ping failed. Even the Ookla Speedtest app timed out after the ping test stage.
Friend called into the local Free shop and he had exceeded his monthly limit by 5GB, so they’d blocked all data until his next monthly payment cleared. He upped his monthly limit and, lo and behold, his internet was back working by the time he got home.
If you can ping, the equipment in your home is fine.
Thanks for the advice Notalot.
Definitely a problem with the box, but good to be aware of other issues.
