Doing IT support for someone with an old Wanadoo France (now hosted by Orange France) email account which keeps throwing “account error - password incorrect” messages when trying to send emails from his iThings.
I resolved it a week ago with a password change across the iThings and their PC and I’ve just been told the same issue is occurring again.
I haven’t seen that as I only use Wanadoo/Orange for emails on the pc, but since I bought this new computer I get regular pop-ups telling me my ‘Orange account 2 is not up to date’. When I click on the panel there are no options displayed as to what to do about it. Reception of emails however remains unaffected.
My personal email address is an old Wanadoo one. I use it on an iPhone, Macbook Pro & iMac.
It’s used as an IMAP account & always via an email client (Apple Mail). I rarely use Orange’s webmail interface.
I do occasionally get errors on the iPhone, usually when the device has a weak wifi connection & slips onto 4G & back. I’ve never had to change anything to resolve a problem.
