I received an Amazon gift card from a family member for Xmas. However it was bought on Amazon’s UK site. Does anyone know if they can be transferred, as I also received some from my company’s comité d’entreprise (on French Amazon) and it would be helpful to be able to combine them.
I don’t think you can use it on the French site. I believe they are tied to the country they were bought in. But i have used the .co.uk site in France , you’ll just have to pay postage.

You’d think they’d let you transfer them, or at least use them to buy a gift card on the French site with the UK card. I get that legally they’re different companies, but to me Amazon is Amazon.

You could check with them via Chat - just go to Cust Svcs in the mass of links at the bottom of the page then go through about 3 levels of No none of the suggested topic list then select Chat. You can also elect to receive a call which is usually prompt bur I only use that if the question is not easily type-able

Amazon gift cards are usually locked to the country and currency they were issued for, so a UK balance generally won’t work on the french amazon and the customer support can confirm it
Also check whether the French cards have any expiry or promotional restrictions
For future gifts, I’ve used aceb to buy the correct country-specific card with crypto
