Are internal combustion vehicles as quiet as electric vehicles?

Legacy auto makers draughtsmenjust cannot think modern, they need a radiator to produce a car. Some of the ugliest vehicles on the roads are new EV’s at least the new car makers can design from a clean sheet like BYD.

2022 reference tax income for a purchase or rental in 2024 (2023 tax notice)

The amount of the conversion bonus is set at 80% of the acquisition cost, up to a limit of €5,000 if you meet one of the following 2 conditions:

  • The length of the journey made with your personal vehicle, between your home and your workplace , is greater than 30 km
  • You drive more than 12,000 km per year in your personal vehicle for your professional activity

If you do not meet these conditions, the amount of the bonus is set at €1,500 .

So, of the two conditions, at least one of which you must meet, both involve working. If you don’t match any of the two conditions, you can get €1500 through this route.

Exactly, which is why I said…

It was my way of pushing people to look at the linked info itself.

So, if my RFR is below €24500 per part, which it comfortably is, then I could definitely get up to €5500 combined. If it’s below €15400 per part, then I could get up to €8500 combined. That’s a bit mad as I was going to originally look for a 2 to 3 year old second hand EV, but a new one could be a similar price depending on what I decide to buy.

That is the route I went down. I went in to the showroom as a bit of a tyre kicker because the list price was out of my reach, then the salesman kept knocking off discounts and finally offered me an insane part exchange price until it became an offer I could not refuse.

And it is the only new car I have ever owned

It is easy to get the two schemes and their options mixed up :slightly_smiling_face:

I do love my EV but I won’t be taking it on my impending UK tour, just too many white knuckle rides recently…
