I see that the Assemblée Nationale has again passed a bill supporting assisted dying following the rejection of the previous bill by the Senate. Now to see if the Senate rejects it again.

Tricky issue.
After the major contraception battle, the major divorce battle, the major same sex marriage battle and the major woman’s right to choose battle, the right to die with dignity will be the next battle with the odious Irish Catholic fundamentalists. They haven’t gone away.

I’m in favour of it myself. I have the right to basically write my own Do Not Resucitate instruction, so if that’s OK then why not the right to end one’s own life when there is no hope of recovery.
