Oh, never take the red pill
??? Spasfon?? Stain remover? Phloroglucinol? How? I know it only as a lyoc, a white powdery loose tablet you leave to melt under your tongue.
Oh I see very funny and there I was Mrs gullible completely taken in thinking phoroglucinolās a spiffy wonder-enzyme of some sort.
Edited because I forgot an L
OH has used spasfon to relieve ghastly, painful spasms of one sort or anotherā¦
and can testify to its efficacyā¦
thankfully not needed it in recent years, but his cardio insists he has a small supply⦠just in case.
EDIT Iāve just checked and the ābest before dateā is end December 2023⦠ooops ![]()
Itās not a joke. You can Google it if you donāt believe me. I checked with my other half and she says she only used it when washing white things and it was to brighten them up rather than removing a stain. This wasnāt a scientific experiment though so maybe she was mistaken ![]()
Wow, do I want to consume it now, whatās it doing to oneās insides? ![]()

Nobody likes an inside stain. ![]()
I know that feeling. Coughing or sneezing either.
Exactly, it is used to help with abdominal spasms, which can be excruciatingly painful.
Very effective.
The catheter is out and the waterworks seem to be functioning as designed.
Who know that basic toileting could bring such joy.
"I lied that it wouldnāt hurt " said my kind nurse as I writhed in pain clutching my manhood ābecause there was no point in saying anything elseā. She was soothing me by stroking my head whilst she said this; it almost made up for the agony she had just inflicted.
JohnH knows what Iām talking about.
I think you had a masochist. While it felt a bit odd, there wasnāt really any pain, just a few minutes of discomfort afterwards.
Edited to add: Iām reading that thereās a new initiative in the UK where you remove your own catheter. I feel that might be a step too far.
We are talking about a pain far in excess of any childbirth and my nurse was a most kindly and loving sadist!
Iām glad yours went well⦠mine hurt.
Good to hear all is well, just be aware of the unintended consequences of farting for a few daysš
How would you know, firsthand?
A vivid imagination, presumably. ![]()
I donāt know how I knew when I had a blood clot after my prostate op, but I did know, it was the most excruciating pain I could ever imagine and although both hands gripped the above bed triangle to the extent that it almost broke and despite my teeth being clamped together so tight that a vice could only achieve by the use of a metre long extension lever, I still could not contain the scream that emitted from my lungs. The nurse who arrived from the far end of the hospital in the night could not have done so in reponse to my bell call because my hands were not free enough to press it.
I will never volunteer for that again, but many women often volunteer for repeated childbirth. ![]()
(I may have been actively courting controversy with that remark.)
Right, Iām getting bored now that Iāve watched Netflix and read the internet so thought Iād give you a quick update that allās well and recovery seems to be marching on. Iāve had a couple of days when I was properly sick but I think that was just a common or garden sickness bug and not related to the surgery. Iām up to 6km of walking per day but over a couple of installments, which is pretty much what I was doing before surgery.
Most importantly, only 4 more days of injections and I can get these bloody stockings off!
Love the photo! Youāre lucky - OH had a DVT and then pulmonary embolism after an op last year - heās in those for life! Theyāre not great when the temperature is in the upper 30s.
