Avoid bank transfers in the EU during the following dates

If you are planning on making banking transfers from your bank to an account in another bank, (or are anticipating receiving such transfers) do be aware that the EU banking systems overseen by the ECB won’t process the transfers from the eve of Good Friday (in practice from Thursday evening 2 April) until normal business hours resume on Tuesday 7th.

Similar restrictions will apply around May 1st, and over weekends generally.

Now you tell me, been wondering where mine had gone, will have to check on Monday.

Yet more great customer service from the world’s bankers.

I rest my case m’lud. :squinting_face_with_tongue:

Slightly off topic but I just had a weird experience with Wise.
I booked a Leonardo hotel in Vienna. Got right to the end of the booking process and Wise sent me a request to approve the payment.
The payee name was the Star Hotel which I’d never heard of.
I denied approval, thinking I could always speak to the Leonardo and do the booking again if necessary.
A few seconds after me denying approval, a confirmation email came through from the Leonardo.
I called them this morning because I didn’t want them realising later they had no card number for me and perhaps cancelling the reservation.
But they assured me on the phone that they DO have the Wise card number.

Now as it turns out I DID want this booking so all is well.
But I had also assumed that if I ever denied approval on the Wise app that the transaction would not go through.

I think you should report that to Wise.

I had a couple of uncompleted transactions that did not go through as something unexpected happened and yet now I recall, they did appear in the list of transactions even though I had pulled back and not completed them at the last minute. Luckily the funds are not there for the 2 earlier ‘mistakes’ and the correct transaction was done the 3rd time.

Gut feeling tbey won’t believe you and think you clicked anyway but if enough people report they’ll work out they have a potential problem.

‘Star’ guessing tbe Leonardo is part of the Italian Starhotels group.

Thanks Karen.
I think you’re right and I should report it - although I’m slightly worried they might misunderstand (people seem to get the wrong of the stick a lot these days) and cancel the transaction (which I don’t want- because it turns out it was kosher).
